How to stop your lashes from clumping or sticking together?
Written by Rachael McPherson, Posted in Beauty Tips
I am a real perfectionist when it comes to my lashes applying mascara. I find that a lot of people don’t know how to use their mascara properly and to its full potential. It is usually applied incorrectly which causes the lashes to stick together and clump up.
When you first buy your mascara and pull out the brush, you will find that the mascara brush has way to much mascara on it to begin with. This excess mascara will make your lashes stick together, clump together and even leave big clumps of mascara on your lashes. There is nothing wrong with the mascara, it just means that your mascara needs to be scraped!!! All you need to do is scrape the brush of the mascara on the edge of the mascara bottle. This will remove all of the excess mascara that clumps your lashes together. Make sure that you rotate the mascara brush so that you get rid of all of the excess mascara. You will also need to make sure that the excess mascara is going back in your mascara bottle and not down the outsides of the mascara. See the steps below of me scraping my mascara brush for a perfect application.
Step 1. Above is my Lancôme Hypnôse Drama mascara in Excessive Black. I have been using this mascara for approximately one month but you can see that there is still a lot of mascara on the brush. Too much!! This will clump and stick your lashes together.
Step 2. Start scraping your mascara on the edge of the mascara bottle by dragging the brush downwards along the edge your mascara bottle.
Step 3. Keep dragging the brush downwards along the edge your mascara bottle like this to remove the excess mascara.
Step 4. Make sure the excess mascara stays inside of your mascara bottle
(One edge of the mascara is complete. You can still see that there is still a lot of excess mascara on the brush).
Step 5. Rotate the brush slightly and repeat scraping the brush along the side of your mascara bottle until it is clean of excess mascara. Keep rotating the brush until all sides of the mascara is clean. You can do one whole side and only use that one side. I tend to do that when I am in a rush!!
Step 6. Your brush will now be scraped perfectly and ready to apply for perfect lashes!!
I hope this helps you achieve beautiful, flawless lashes. It does for me!!
