Visiting the David Jones Bridal Suites

David Jones Bridal

I had the pleasure of trying on wedding gowns at the David Jones Bridal suites this month. It’s absolutely exquisite up there and they really pamper you. You check in at the Concierge on the Ground level of David Jones of Elizabeth Street and then you are escorted up to the seventh floor to the stunning bridal suites. It’s really beautiful up there and they carry designers including names such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, Collette Dinnigan, Lisa Gowing, Steven Khalil, Alex Perry and Karen Willis Holmes. You have to book way in advance so I booked two appointments in, 2 weeks in a row just to be sure to get in.

The seventh floor also boasts of an amazing view over Hyde Park and St Mary’s Cathedral. It’s a real treat.

Take your pick girls.

Taking a pic inside the suite. The dresses I tried on this time were totally different to what I would go for. I went for the ‘classic’ bride look with plain heavy satins and large classic bows. The Cathedral dress by Carolina Herrera was stunning. It’s in the photo below but without the cape.Unfortunately you can’t see it that well in the photo. If I wasn’t going for a J’aton look I would go for the classic couture look.

Carolina Herrera Alice Gown

Taking a little selfie while I wait. I’m wearing a Forecast blouse, a Shieke skirt, Zu heels, and Peeptoe jewellery. As I mentioned, I loved the Carolina Herrera Cathedral ‘Alice’ gown. It was made with heavy satin and it had a beautiful long train. I felt like Maria from The Sound of Music. She wore that stunning cathedral dress.

If you are a bride it’s a must to go up there. You get to sip on lovely Moët in crystal glasses and they give you a large Bridal book as a take-home gift.
