My Wedding Proposal
Written by Rachael McPherson, Posted in Events
Glen proposed on Saturday 10th August this year down on Sydney Harbour. He got down on one knee and surprised me with the most beautiful ring. I chose the style from Tiffany and he got it personally made by James Allen from the USA. The ring is pure platinum with a 1.3 carat diamond and 63 diamonds around the outside. No I didn’t count them lol. He surprised me with an amazing dinner at The Bridge Room and a night’s stay at The Westin in Sydney. The diamond is cushion cut and has been cut as crushed ice so when you look into it it sparkles like crazy. It’s clarity of VVS2 and G colour. Check out the pictures of the proposal below. Glen cracked open a bottle of Moet before we left. I had no idea he was going to propose. He got some nice shots of me drinking it.
Cheersing me before the proposal.
Me mucking around in the hotel before dinner. I had no idea what was coming. A proposal!
Glen above having his favourite cocktail at The Bridge Room. This was before he proposed and he wasn’t nervous at all.
Our first entree: Sea scallops in roasted cauliflower butter, biltong cauliflower in mustard seed pickle, verbena and green apple. This was delicious. An amazing blend of flavours.
This entree was incredible. Japanese style king fish served so modern and fresh. We really enjoyed this restaurant. It tops Aria and Cafe Sydney for us. The celebrity chef Ross Lusted who is also the owner of Bridge Room was cooking in the kitchen while we were there. This was an added bonus.
We ordered the Ocean Trout with crispy skin and bella rossa peppers in ash pepper oil, grilled fennel, basil, dried olive for our main. $42 and so delicious.
Above is the Darling Downs Wagyu Sirloin with grilled marrow bone, ash grilled carrots, sticky veal sauce and spinach. This was to die for. I actually couldn’t fault any of their dishes. $44
The aerated passionfruit, roasted nougatine, passionfruit ice cream, passionfruit seed powder and an amazing glass biscuit. This was delicious.
The burnt caramel cream, candied packham pear salad, pistachio crumb, mint, basil, raisins and pedro ximenez. This took creme caramel to another level.
After Glen proposed. He looks pretty happy with himself! I said yes. You don’t want to see the pics of me. I was crying. Eek!
My stunning 1.3 carat cushion ring with 63 diamonds around the outside. It’s absolutely stunning. It’s has great colour and clarity VVS2 and G colour. The photo’s do not do it justice.
